Clinical Director

Dr. Gordon D. Lamb, Ph.D.

Dr. Lamb received his Ph.D. in School/Clinical Child Psychology from Texas A&M University (TAMU). Dr. Lamb’s prior experiences give him a unique perspective with his patients. He started as direct care staff in a group home for teenagers with autism and then a child psychiatric hospital. He later worked as a case manager securing services for individuals with disabilities, including advocating for students with disabilities in the schools. After completing his Ph.D., he worked for two years as a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP) and then as an assistant professor at Sam Houston State University (SHSU), teaching courses in therapy and assessment. After leaving the university to practice full time, he has continued to supervise practicum students from SHSU and TAMU. He has also supervised many recent graduates as they pursue licensure as a psychologist.

In terms of therapy, Dr. Lamb primarily utilizes a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach, while drawing from more modern advances such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC). With roots in child therapy, he also enjoys working with children and parents utilizing Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT).

Dr. Lamb enjoys spending time with his wife and five children. He is active in his church congregation and volunteers as time permits.
